Breakfast is served in the breakfast room on the ground floor, and it is always included in the room rate. It is the thing our guests talk about most, after us.
Homemade cakes, tarts, biscuits in glass jars, and something different from one day to the next. «Breakfasts were wonderful and different each day», wrote Heather.
Alongside the sweet there is always a savoury side, and a selection of herbal teas for anyone who wants something lighter than coffee first thing.
ONWAKING
The coffee arrives hot, the cakes came out of the oven not long before, and nobody is hurrying you: breakfast lasts as long as you want it to.
Homemade, every morning
No industrial buffet and no single-portion packets: what is on the table we made ourselves, and it changes with the day and with what there is.
The breakfast roomand the sitting room
The breakfast room opens off the ground floor of the house, under the stone vaults. Next to it, the shared sitting room: the right place for a mid-morning coffee or an afternoon pause.
On the walls, historic photographs of Gagliano del Capo, gathered over the years.
And for the restof the day
We do not have a restaurant, but two or three hundred metres from the door there are the village trattorie, pizzerie and bars. We are glad to tell you where to go — it is one of the things people ask us most.
In the evening, once the town empties out, there is the second-floor terrace and a glass of local wine.
The smell of the morning
A homemade breakfast is not an extra service: it is how this house says good morning. The rest of the day you can leave unplanned.
