THE TERRACES

The rooms interlock with one another and in doing so they make two large terraces: it was the 1555 floor plan that drew them, not an architect.

AFTER SUNSET

The place to unwind at the end of the day, perhaps over a glass of good local wine.
The main terrace, on the second floor, looks out over the rooftops of Gagliano del Capo. You reach it from the Verbena room — and from the Gelsomino balcony, by way of a secret stair.

The second, shared terrace opens off the level of the Lavanda room. During the restoration an ancient well came back to light beneath the house.
