THE ROOMS
Five rooms carved out of the original plan of the 1555 house and reconfigured around its guests: star vaults, high ceilings, bare stone and the light of Salento.

FIVE ROOMS, UP TO 11 GUESTS. THE ROOMS INTERLOCK WITH ONE ANOTHER, AND IN DOING SO THEY MAKE TWO LARGE TERRACES.

Each room carries the name of a flower: jasmine, lilac, lavender, marigold, verbena. The same ones that grow in the courtyards and along the dry-stone walls of this corner of Salento.
GELSOMINO — jasmine — flowers at night and scents courtyards all over Salento. The room that carries its name is the quietest in the house.
Set apart from the ordinary run of the rooms, which makes it extremely quiet and private.
From the balcony a secret stair leads up to the main terrace on the second floor.
It is the only room with a flat-screen TV.

LILLÀ — lilac — opens in spring and is the flower of family houses. This is, fittingly, the room built for three.
Suited equally to three adults and to families.
Large enough to take a cot for the youngest guests.

LAVANDA — lavender — grows on the dry-stone walls and asks for very little. An essential room, perfect for two.
Perfect for a couple.
On the same level there is a shared terrace where you can sit together.

CALENDULA — marigold — follows the sun and closes at dusk. This room, the highest and the coolest, does much the same.
Reached by a flight of stone steps: unusually large and unusually cool.
The furnishings carry pieces of the Salento tradition, and the spaces follow the original shape of the old building.
The balcony looks over a lane joined by an ancient staircase, left untouched by the restoration.

VERBENA was the sprig Romans carried as a sign of peace. From this room you step straight out onto the big terrace.
Intimate and welcoming, made for a couple.
The room opens onto the large main terrace, and from there over the whole town.
Its orientation makes it especially bright, from first light onwards.
